Careers at Midwest Event Solutions
Come Make Cool Shit With Us.
Midwest Event Solutions is a live event production company based in the Chicago area. We provide audio, lighting, video, staging and production support for everything from corporate events and conferences to live entertainment, immersive experiences and some things that are a little harder to explain until you see them.
Behind all of it is a team of people who know how to solve problems, keep their cool when things get weird and make really complicated things look easy.
And occasionally do it while standing backstage in the dark eating dinner out of a takeout container.
If that sounds like your kind of workplace, keep reading.
Who We Are
-
Even when you work in the office.
Live events move fast. Plans change. Clients call. Trucks need to get loaded. Equipment needs to be in the right place at the right time. Somebody will inevitably ask a question that nobody anticipated.
We take our work seriously, but ourselves considerably less so.
Our team is collaborative, direct and pretty sarcastic. There is swearing. There is dark humor. There are very likely conversations about ghosts, weird buildings we've worked in and whatever bizarre thing happened at last night's event.
We're looking for people who can laugh with us while still knowing when it's time to lock in and get the job done.
-
You don't need to come from the live events industry to be great at Midwest Event Solutions.
Experience helps and is required for some positions. For others, we're much more interested in how you think and work.
The people who tend to thrive here are:
Resourceful and willing to figure things out
Organized without needing everything around them to be perfectly organized
Comfortable asking questions
Reliable when other people are counting on them
Willing to jump in when something needs to get done
Interested in learning new things
Good at recognizing a problem before it becomes a much bigger problem
Comfortable working with a team full of different personalities
-
Midwest Event Solutions supports events throughout Chicagoland and beyond with:
Audio
Lighting
Video
Staging
Rigging
Power distribution
Event production
Technical staffing
Equipment rental
Custom and specialty production
That means the work here can look very different from one day to the next.
One week may involve a ballroom full of LED walls and corporate presentations. The next might involve theatrical lighting, a live performance, an unusual venue or a production request nobody has ever made before.
We like that.

We're currently looking for a proactive, highly organized Sales & Executive Coordinator to support our leadership team and help keep opportunities moving.
This person will primarily support the owner of Midwest Event Solutions while also providing approximately 6–8 hours per week of sales and administrative support for our sister company, Elevated Events.
This is a great role for someone who genuinely enjoys keeping people organized, building relationships, following up and making sure nothing important disappears into the abyss.
Some of what you'll do:
Manage calendars, inboxes, meetings and administrative priorities
Respond to inquiries and serve as a professional first point of contact
Follow up on leads, proposals and outstanding opportunities
Prepare proposals, contracts, quotes and client communications
Maintain CRM records and sales follow-up
Coordinate meetings, site visits and project logistics
Research prospective clients and support outbound business development
Assist with reporting, special projects and day-to-day executive support
Provide similar sales and administrative support to Elevated Events for approximately 6–8 hours each week
You may be a great fit if you're someone who:
Loves organization and follow-through
Can manage multiple priorities without constant supervision
Communicates comfortably with clients, vendors and coworkers
Notices when something hasn't been handled yet
Isn't afraid to pick up the phone
Can work independently but knows when to ask a question
Is comfortable learning new software and systems
Understands that "I'll take care of it" means it actually gets taken care of
Experience with live events, entertainment or sales is a plus.
Experience with platforms like QuickBooks, FLEX or CRM software is also a major plus, but not required. We'd rather hire someone smart and adaptable who can learn our systems than eliminate a great candidate because they haven't happened to use the same software we do.
